The Massachusetts General Hospital Cardiovascular CT Teleradiology Program was founded to fulfill the requirements of a rapidly expanding non-invasive cardiovascular imaging market. It was formed by a group of experts and leaders in the field in cardiovascular CT, including radiologists and cardiologists.

The Teleradiology Program was formed with the purpose of providing expert second opinions and final reports for cardiovascular CT interpretation. The primary goal is to provide the best patient care through rapid and accurate interpretations of cardiovascular CT examinations by making accessible the world-renowned expertise of radiologists and cardiologists from Massachusetts General Hospital.

The MGH Cardiovascular CT Teleradiology Program is located at the CVCT Core lab and is equipped with dedicated workstations for assessment of cardiovascular CT data sets, a PACS system and a central server with a T-1 line for outside access, enabling automatic image delivery and storage.

Additionally, a central server, a backup server, a system for paperless data delivery and storage, and a PACS system are in place.
